Google introduces definition glossary

Google has boosted its search service capabilities with the introduction of a feature that searches for definitions as well as page results.
The new facility is intended to enable users to gain results for 'unofficial' words and terms, including slang.
Users will be able to define a word by typing 'define', a space, then the word itself.
The system has undergone extensive testing over the past 18 months, and non-English versions are due for release in the near future.
Google is not the first search engine to offer this type of definition service, and will maintain a deal with dictionary.com to provide word definition content.
'[A search command] emerges from testing when we feel it's ready for prime time,' a Google spokesman told internetnews.com. 'Certainly, the quality and reliability have to be there.'
