3G SEM (Search Engine Marketing) is part of an onging story that most search engine marketing companies have embarked upon, here we try to bring it all together...

In the case of Weboptimiser, it started out as a tool to highlight the range of services that were available. In 2004 Weboptimiser created the site 3GSEM.com and has recently upgraded the site to enable people to add more 3G SEM ideas - as technology continues to develope and it is to everybodies advantage to know more about the development of the industry.

We think it makes a lot of sense in these days of 'open source', collaberation and as the market matures, it makes sense for the players to work with each other, to their joint benefit and of course to client benefits too. it is the way all industries tend to go. In our case we have a significant trade body - the IAB.

Parts of the 3G SEM concepts are now found embedded within the new IAB UK Search Council handbook. The IAB Search Council consists of volunteer client, agency and search engine directors and managers, generally responsible for marketing and communications, with a long term commitment to the industry and a mission to share and inspire...

One of the benefits of a trade organisation means that members are answerable to their own peer group. In practice this means members can tell the good stuff from the bad stuff quickly. It also means that the trade moves forward based on concensus, fulfilling the working together ethos and communicating outwardly with a set of agreed messages, ultimately providing evidence of self policing.

Advanced Search Engine Marketing will continue to develop as the market evolves, and more practice takes place, new things are learned and more developments are announced. No doubt there will be some who do not agree with the chosen concepts and perhaps wish to add more in the interests of completeness. Go ahead, open an account here on this site and give us your opinions and share your experiences.

By the time you have read this the story of Advanced Search Engine Marketing will have moved on, and so we throw the doors open to fellow professionals, developers and all.
